SWEDI was founded based on a spirit to support the emotional, social, and practical needs of children, women, the disabled, and the elderly. These needs cut across society and transverse the whole globe.
Therefore, the vision of SWEDI is
A society that sows and nurtures seeds of hope, health, and life with respect, and dignity.
In this vision, SWEDI recognises:
- Hope and a stable mind are prerequisite for sound health. Everyone needs this.
- Everyone must be treated with dignity and respect, irrespective of the circumstances in which they live.
- In order for one to realize any degree of fulfilment, a system of support and service delivery must be in place. Thus children, women, the sick, disabled, and elderly need seeds of support, which seeds must be nurtured.
- In order to realize good health and life, the most basic human needs must be in place. Health, food, are important. In addition, one needs to achieve their aspirations in life thus necessitating education and other support services. This is SWEDI’s vision for children, women, the sick, disabled, and elderly in the global society.
